Dharmasthala case: Girish Mattannavar submits evidence, alleges panchayat forgery

Mangaluru, Aug 30, 2025: Girish Mattannavar, after submitting documents to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), said he had already clarified all allegations against him. He claimed that large-scale forgery had occurred in panchayat records and that illegal activities, including unlawful disposal of bodies in Dharmasthala and suspicious deaths in a local lodge, had taken place.

He stated that SIT called him following a letter he wrote, and he has submitted evidence confidentially. Mattannavar asserted that he would not seek anticipatory bail and that he is fighting a lawful struggle. He also raised concerns over possible manipulation or bribery influencing witness statements and expressed trust in SIT to conduct a comprehensive investigation.

He further emphasized that he remains aligned with Mahesh Shetty Timarodi and denied any betrayal or wrongdoing on his part.
