Scooter-lorry collision at Golithottu junction leaves couple seriously injured

Nelyadi, Aug 30, 2025: A scooter and a lorry collided at the Golithottu junction on National Highway 75 (Mangaluru–Bengaluru route) on Thursday afternoon, leaving a couple seriously injured and hospitalized.
The injured have been identified as Bommanna Gowda (46) and his wife Kusumavathi (35), residents of Valakadama in Hirebandadi village. The couple was traveling on their two-wheeler from Valakadama towards Sullia via Ramakunja–Golithottu road. As they attempted to cross the highway at Golithottu junction, their scooter collided with a lorry heading from Mangaluru towards Bengaluru.
Both sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment, sources said.
