Scooter-lorry collision at Golithottu junction leaves couple seriously injured

Nelyadi, Aug 30, 2025: A scooter and a lorry collided at the Golithottu junction on National Highway 75 (Mangaluru–Bengaluru route) on Thursday afternoon, leaving a couple seriously injured and hospitalized.

The injured have been identified as Bomman­na Gowda (46) and his wife Kusumavathi (35), residents of Valakadama in Hirebandadi village. The couple was traveling on their two-wheeler from Valakadama towards Sullia via Ramakunja–Golithottu road. As they attempted to cross the highway at Golithottu junction, their scooter collided with a lorry heading from Mangaluru towards Bengaluru.

Both sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment, sources said.
