Ullal: Cops arrest 5 accused in Majid clash

Mangalore, Oct 20, 2013: Three more persons have been arrested in connection with the recent clashes at Ullal over the issue of offering namaz at a newly built shrine The clash had taken place at the Hosapalli Jumma Masjid at Melangady.

Those arrested are Imthiyaz, Kandi Akbar and Deadly Irfan. The police who acted upon a complaint lodged  by one Sayyed who was stabbed in the incident, had raided over 20 houses in the area on October 18, Friday and arrested  Samad Kodi and Iqbal Ambettady.

 

It is learnt, one of the accused Imtiyaz was hospitalized following the incident and he was arrested after the police enquired him at the hospital.

Police are likely to make a few more arrests in this case. As per another complaint lodged in connection with this case by one Nisar, police are on the look out for  12 persons including Savaad, Abbas Haji and Saujad.
