Udupi: Woman files complaint against husband for giving Triple Talaq

Udupi, June 20, 2025: A woman has lodged a complaint at the Women’s Police Station of Udupi against her husband for giving her triple talaq over phone. It is learnt the man gave triple talaq when his wife questioned him over his second marriage following which he left for Dubai.

Amrin of Mangaluru had married Adil Ibrahim of Udupi as per Islam Shariat in 2013 and resided in a rented house near Brahmavar. It is learnt Adil had pledged the gold jewellery of his wife to clear his loan and had also purchased a house at Brahmavar by selling her gold and pledging her sister’s jewels. It is said he had married another woman on January 3 this year without Amrin’s knowledge and had flown to Dubai with his second wife. On coming to know about this Amrin called her husband who gave her Triple Talaq over phone following which a complaint was lodged.
