Mangalore, May 12: Rev. Fr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the bishop of Shimoga Diocese, conferred Holy Orders on deacons Rohan D’Souza and Lancy Fernandes of the Capuchin order at the Most Holy Savior Church at Agrar on May 11, Wednesday.
The bishop also delivered the homily on the occasion, after which Fr. Benjamin Pinto, the parish priest of Agrar, proposed the vote of thanks and Fr. Boniface Pinto, the director of Mangala Jyothi, organized the liturgical service.
A formal stage programme was held after the Holy Mass with Fr. Vincent Furtado, the Capuchin provincial superior for Karnataka, and Fr. Benjamin Pinto on the dais.

The newly ordained priests Fr. Lancy Fernandes and Fr. Rohan D’Souza served as deacons at St. Sebastian Parish in Permannur and St. Jude Parish in Paikshikere, respectively, before they received their Holy Orders. They expressed their gratefulness to their superiors and parents. While Fr. Lancy Fernandes will soon go to Shri Lanka for missionary work, Fr. Rohan D’Souza has been appointed as the vice novice master of Monte Mariano Monastery at Farangipet.
