Train carrying BJP workers to Shrinagar turned back

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Jan 24: The members of the BJP Yuva Morcha organized a protest in front of the Central Railway Station on Jan 24 against the central government for not permitting the activists to go to Kashmir to hoist the Indian flag on Republic Day. In his protest speech, Shrikar Prabhu said that the central government cheated the BJP youth activists by turning back the train at the Maharashtra border at midnight and bringing it back to the state.

The Karnataka – Shrinagar train, which held around 2000 BJP youth activists, was stopped in Maharashtra and the activists were sent back to Karnataka. Mr. Prabhu said that the central government was surrendering to the whims of Kashmir separatists, accusing the Congress of attempting to make two separate governments and hoist two flags on an earlier occasion.

Rajgopal Rai, the BJP publicity leader, warned PM Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, and other UPA ministers that BJP workers know how to reach Jammu or Shrinagar even if the central government attempts to suppress them, warning the centre that the BJP party workers will definitely reach Shrinagar and hoist the flag there.

BJP leaders Deputy Mayor Rajendra Kumar, Roopa D Bangera, Nithin Kumar, Sumana Sharan, and others also participated in the protest.
