Tigress dies of injuries after fight with another tiger in Pilikula

Mangaluru, June 07, 2023: A fight between two tigers has resulted in the death of one of them at the Dr Shivaram Karanth Biological Park at Pilikula.

Netravati, a 15 year old tigress, which was injured in a fight with ’Reva’, a six-year old tiger on June 4.

Netravati had attacked Reva when the tiger came to mate. The authorities intervened swiftly, managing to separate them and return them to their cage.

The veterinary doctor and scientific officers diligently tended to Netravati’s injuries, providing her with water and nourishment as she began her recovery. Unfortunately, Netravati suddenly collapsed this morning during the treatment and passed away.

The post-mortem report of the tigress is awaited informed Pilikula authorities.

Netravati and Reva were born in the biological park. There are eight tigers in the park at present.
