Thousands attend annual Eucharist procession of Mangalore Diocese

Mangalore, Jan 7, 2013: Thousands of people including priests, nuns and the laity took part in the annual Eucharist procession of Mangalore Diocese held on January 6, Sunday, from Milagres Church to Rosario Cathedral. Mangalore Bishop Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza offered the Mass at Milagres Church prior to the procession. The Eucharistic procession culminated with adoration at the Rosario Cathedral.

Fr Pius James D’Souza, Superior of St Joseph’s Monastery, in his homily said the Eucharist procession is a symbol of unity and a way to thank God for His Blessings. He also called upon the people to help the old and the sick as this too was a means of serving God.


Parishes which made highest collections for the Mangalore Diocese were honoured on the occasion. Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, Valerian D’Souza, Parish Priest of Milagres Church, Fr Stany Goveas, Parish Priest of Rosario Church, Fr Antony Serrao, Fr William Menezes and several others were present.
