Team Mangalore kites adorn Hong Kong skies

Mangalore, Oct 20, 2013: Some of the best kites of Team Mangalore, a city based team of kite flyers, were showcased during the Hong Kong International Kite Festival held on October 13 and 14 at Cyberfort Water Front, Hong Kong. Team Mangalore had participated in the event on an invitation from  the organizers of the event namely the Hong Kong Art Foundation and Southern District Council of Hong Kong. Renowned kite flyers from Japan and China too took part in the event.

 

Team Mangalore was represented by Prashanth Upadhyaya, Subhash Pai, Dinesh Holla and Shashank Shetty. Some of the kites exhibited by them were Kathakali, Yakshagana,Gajaraja, Avatar Bird, Charlie, Owl, Deer, Pushpaka Vimana, “Garuda” and “Fire Devil Delta”the last two being their new creations.

Team Mangalore also conducted workshops and taught the art of making Indian Fighter Kites to Hong Kong children. The kites of Team Mangalore were appreciated by the Organising Committee Chief of the event Wandy Tsang, Deputy Chief Sasha and Financial Controller Wendy Kan.

The members of the Kannada Sangha of Hong Kong too  witnessed the show in large numbers in support of Team Mangalore.
