St. Aloysius College team wins football tournament

Mangalore, Jan 26: The finals of the Benjamin D’Souza Memorial Inter Collegiate Football Tournament organized by the DK Football Association (DKFA) were held on the football ground of Nehru Maidan on Jan 25, Tuesday with finalists St. Aloysius College and Tippu Sultan College fighting for the championship. Finally, the St. Aloysius College team emerged as the champions of the match.

 

K. Laxman Shetty, the proprietor of Eagle Electricals; B. Abdul Salam, the managing director of B. A. Group; Aloysius D’Souza, the head teacher of Rosario High School and son of the late Benjamin D’Souza; and Santhosh D’Souza, the assistant physical director of Mangalore University, were the chief guests of the event. They distributed the prizes among the winners.

D. M. Aslam presided over the event, Secretary Mohammed Hussain welcomed the gathering; Co-secretary Umesh Uchchila delivered the vote of thanks; and Vijay Suvarna compered the programme. Anil P. V. was also present.
