Mangalore , July 31, 2012 : Sr. Loyola (78) died in a road accident when she was taking Sr.Luvilla and Sr. Celsa to St. John’s Hospital for a medical check-up in the afternoon of July 30, Monday.
Born in Kinnigoli on July 29, 1934 to Marcel Serrao and Bridget Mathais, she studied in Little Flower Girls’ High School in Kinnigoli, entered the Bethany Congregation on June 30, 1951, and made her final profession in 1960. She studied pastoral care, theology, and spiritual renewal in Rome. Sr. Loyola has served in Nagaland, North Karnataka, Germany, Gadag, Bendur, Dharwad, Rome, K. R. Nagar, St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, and Jyothi Nilaya in Bangalore.
Sr. Loyola is the sister of late Sr. Leena BS, late Sr. Regula BS, late Fr. Francis Serrao of Mangalore Diocese, Leena D’Sa, Julie Monteiro, and Fr. Paul Serrao of Delhi Archdiocese.
The funeral ceremony will be held on Aug 1, Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Jyothi Nilaya Convent in Kacharkanahalli in Bangalore.
