Spring Zouk report to be discussed on Tuesday - CM

Puttur, June 11, 2012 : Speaking after casting his vote in Puttur on Sunday, Chief Minister D. V. Sadananda Gowda said that the report on the Spring Zouk Festival, which was held on St. Mary’s Island a few months back, will be discussed on Tuesday.

 

 

Confirming that the government has received the Mysore regional commissioner’s report on the festival, he said that he has not yet read it, but will conduct a discussion on the report on Tuesday.

He further said that the state government has signed deals worth Rs. 450 crore at the Global Investors’ Meet (GIM) to promote tourism in DK. Stating that the GIM is not restricted to Bangalore alone, he said that industries will come up in teir-II cities too. He said that he has given the responsibility of coordination with these companies to respective DCs.

Stating that he is the president of the empowerment committee, he said that he has already taken part in two meetings, adding that any investor who feels that officials concerned are not responding favorable can contact his office. He also said that arrangements have been made to provide land, electricity, and water to investors within one day of the proposal, and after taking part in the empowerment committee meeting, investors can return with a government order.

Stating that setting up industries alone will be of no use to the state, he said that these industries should generate jobs for the youth and implement the Sarojini Mahishi report completely.

He also said that an Endosulphan victim cenre will be set up in Uppinangady soon and another day-care centre will be set up in Alankaru.
