Speeding car knocks down five pedestrians at Mannagudda; young woman dies

Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2023: A shocking incident wherein an over speeding car claimed the life of a young woman and injured four others including three girls when the car entered the footpath and rammed into them at Mannagudda on October 18, Wednesday evening.
The deceased is Roopashree (22), daughter of Gangadhar of Suratkal Bala. The injured girls Swathi (26), Hithasvi (16), Karthika (16) and Yathika (12) have been hospitalized. All of them were walking on the footpath near the MCC swimming pool along with their relatives when the speeding car knocked them down from behind. They were returning after visiting the Temple when tragedy struck.
The car driver Kamalesh Baldev who was driving the Hyundai Eon car was immediately taken into custody.
Kadri Traffic Police have registered a case.
