Sowjanya case : Youth for Nation stages protest ; demands speedy justice

Bangalore, Jan 1, 2013: Youth for Nation staged a protest at Jayanagar in Bangalore recently demanding justice to the family of Sowjanya who was brutally raped and murdered near Dharmasthala, two months ago.

The organization has also warned of huge protests in the days to come if the culprits in the Sowjanya case were not brought to book.

Addressing the agitators, Ashwin Amin Bantwal said the Youth for Nation was gravely concerned over the rising cases of crime against women.

Referring to the Sowjanya case, he demanded speedy investigation and justice to the family of the 17 year old girl. Ashwin also emphasized the need for stringent laws to punish perpetrators of crime against women.

He further demanded a thorough probe into the Sowjanya case as also the numerous cases of sexual exploitation of women, reported from various parts of the state.

Youth for Nation leaders including Janardhan Bakad, Harshanarayan, Niraj Kamath, Sachin S and Chethan Shetty were among others who took part in the protest.
