Udupi, April 18, 2013 : Congress candidate from Kaup constituency Vinaykumar Sorake submitted his nomination at the taluk office here on April 17, Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters after submitting his nomination, Sorake said he was confident of a win. On the high command choosing him as against former minister Vasanth Salian, Sorake said Salian has won from the constituency five times after being given a chance to contest seven times.
He said the Congress would concentrate on campaigning henceforth. To a question as to why he chose Kaup instead of Puttur, Sorake made it a point that he was elected as MP from Udupi and is also a voter from Udupi, despite being an MLA of Puttur 20 years ago.
