Mangalore, Mar 27, 2013: Karavali Bellimandala Film Society, Mangalore, will screen Girish Kasaravalli directed Kannada film ‘Koormavatara’ at Sharada Vidyalaya on March 30, Saturday.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Mar 27, Wednesday, Tulu film director and President of the society Vijaykumar Kodialbail said that the film is based on Kum Veerabhadrappa’s novel of same title.
He also said that the society without fail is being screening the art movies on the third Saturday of every month free of cost to the public in order to promote it among the general audience.
Speaking on the ‘Koormavatara’, he said that the film released in 2011 had received positive reviews from film critics. It has also bagged a National Award and two international awards, he said. It has also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada for the year 2012, he added.
Dr Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, said that he has played an important role in the film. The film is based on Gandhian principles which is required to adopt in one’s social life. It also portrays domestic issues and conflicts at everyday life at home, he said.
The show will be screened at Dhyana Mandir, Sharada Vidyalaya on Saturday at 5.30 p.m.
Secretary U Prakash Shenoy and joint secretary P Nithyananda Rao were present.
