Sheik Zaid Khalid Patel, the president of Islamic Information Center Mumbai, and Sheik Umar Farooq Madani, the Khateeb of Masjid Usman bin Affan of Nandavar, delivered the talks.

Speaking on the importance of knowledge, Sheikh Zaid Khalid Patel said that all Muslim men and women should compulsorily gain knowledge because the ability to learn is one of the gifts of the gifts bestowed on humankind by the almighty. To drive home his point, he also quoted verses from the Quran and said that, while it is important to obtain knowledge, it is also important to obtain it in the name of the Creator otherwise man will invent disastrous and dangerous things such as nuclear bombs and cigarettes.

In response to a query regarding the relationship between Muslims and non Muslims, Sheikh said that Muslims ought to maintain cordial relationships with people of other religions because Islam preaches oneness. Accordingly, Muslims ought to mingle with people of other religions and organize healthy discussions and debates on other faiths and beliefs.

Regarding the recent verdict delivered by the Allahabad High Court on the Babri Masjid issue, he said that Muslims always stand for peace and justice.
