The six Bethany provincial superiors all over the country brought together all the perpetually professed sisters of their respective province in batches for a Pentecostal experience.

Sr. David Delaney, member of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery (CSJ) in Mumbai, was the resource person. She went to all the six provinces and conveyed to the sisters the message that they have to live their lives as mystics and prophets.

Twelve batches of sisters have already gone through this renewal program, and the last batch arrived on June 9, Saturday to Bethany Mother House, Mangalore. This batch comprises junior sisters. There are 248 such sisters in all the six provinces, and 160 of them are participating in this renewal program, which will last 4 days from June 9, Saturday to June 12, Tuesday.

Sr. Mariette, provincial superior of the Mangalore province, delivered the welcome address. Sr. Wilberta, superior general, inaugurated the event by unfolding the petals of a lotus. Sr. Mariette, Sr. David Delaney, and Sr. Clara Jyothi then lit three candles symbolizing the Trinity within the opened lotus.

In her keynote address, Sr. Wilberta urged all the sisters to have “passion for Christ and compassion for humanity.” Among the dignitaries on the dais were Sr. Lellis, assistant superior general and general coordinator for formation, and Sr. Christella, assistant provincial superior of Mangalore province and convener of the renewal program.
