Police arrests a youth for raping a minor girl; another absconding

Mangalore, Oct 1, 2013: Police arrested a youth of the two on October 1, Tuesday, for allegedly raping a minor girl for over a year.

The arrested is identified as Vikesh, who took advantage of the minor girl from a year. While another accused Praveen is absconding.

According to the police, a girl studying in standard eight in a school in the city was allegedly raped by two of her relatives for over a year and they also threatened her to kill, if she revealed the incident to her parents.

The mothers of the victim, who noticed the change in her behaviour, questioned her and the girl revealed the incident.

Later the girl along with the mother filed a complaint against the duo in Mangalore rural police station.

Police are in search of Praveen, while Vikesh has been charged under Section 376 of IPC.
