Novena Prayers Begin Ahead of Monti Fest in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2025: Nine days of novena prayers commenced on Saturday across all churches under the Mangaluru Diocese as part of the celebrations for the feast of Mother Mary (Monti Fest). The annual festival will be marked by the Christian community on September 8.
At Urwa Church, children offered flowers to Mother Mary, signifying devotion and reverence to nature. A thanksgiving Mass was held after the rosary, with parish priest Fr. Michael Lobo delivering the sermon. Fr. Maurice also participated in the service.
Later, parish priest Fr. Benjamin Pinto led the novena prayers. Sweets were distributed to children and devotees who offered flowers during the ceremony.
