Nitte University signs MoU with Nord University, Norway

Mangaluru, Dec 11, 2023: Researchers at Nitte University Center for Science Education and Research (NUCSER) have been collaborating with scientists at the Faculty of Bioscience and Aquaculture of Nord University, Bodo, Norway and this has resulted in several joint scientific publications in reputed Journals. Few months ago, Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director (Projects), Dr. Anirban Chakraborty, Director, NUCSER, Dr. Biswajit Maiti, Associate Professor, NUCSER along with two doctoral students visited Nord University, Bodo for discussion of ongoing research and to finalise some joint scientific publications.

 

Prof Hetroney Mweemba Munang’Andu, Professor and Dr. Saurabh Dubey, Research scientist from Nord University visited Nitte University during Dec 4-8, 2023. An Indo-Norway workshop on Aquatic Animal Health Management was organized in NUCSER on Dec 5th to discuss scientific research on aspects such as vaccines and phage therapy in aquaculture, microbial pathogens in aquatic systems and antimicrobial resistance and compliance with international standards of World Organisation of Animal Health and Codex Alimentarius Commission (a Joint FAO/WHO body). This was followed by signing of Memorandum of Understanding between Nitte University and Nord University to enhance collaborations in different areas and to facilitate student and staff exchange between the two Universities. Dr. H. Harsha, Registrar Nitte University signed on behalf of Nitte and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.S. Moodithaya exchanged the signed MOU with Prof. Hetroney Mweemba Munang’Andu of Nord University. Dr. Iddya Karunasagar, Advisor and Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director (Projects) facilitated the MOU exchange.
