New CDA Chairman takes charge; says Jyotirgrama project will be implemented

Mangalore, Dec 31, 2012:  Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, General Secretary of the Udupi district unit of the BJP, took charge as the new Chairman of the Coastal Development Authority at  the CDA office on Dec 31, Monday.


Speaking after taking charge, Hegde said apart from working on the project reports prepared by his predecessor, he will strive towards implementing the Jyotirgrama project based on Gujarat model and aimed at supplying electricity 24X7 in villages. The project will be  first implemented   on an experimental basis in a selected taluk, he informed.

Hegde further said he would request the government to increase budgetary allocation for the CDA in the coming budget and also to approve the projects planned by the CDA.


A G Kodgi, Chairman of State Third Finance Commission Task Force, who was also present, appealed to the new CDA Chairman to prevail upon the government to take up more developmental works in coastal districts.


Raviraj was appointed as the new CDA Secretary.    Monappa Bhandary, MLC, Padmanabha Kottari, BJP District unit President and others were present.


The new Chairman Vikramarjuna Hegde has also served as the President of Udupi District BJP Yuva Morcha.
