Mangalore, June 23, 2013: A demand has been placed before the government to simplify the process of obtaining government seats in professional colleges for children of Karnataka based NRIs.
A delegation of Muslim leaders led by Mohamed Ali Uchil, President Bearys Welfare Forum-Abu Dhabi recently met U T Khader, State Minister for Health and Family Affairs in Mangalore, and made a request as above.
The memorandum submitted by the delegation explained the difficulties faced by NRIs in securing seats for their children in professional courses and urged that NRI students be given equal chance to enter professional colleges under government quota seats in their home state.
Khader Talapady, Abbas Uchil of Jamatual Falah, Riyadh unit, U N Ismail Uchil and Abdul Sattar Uchil were also part of the delegation. The Minister assured the delegation of considering its demands.
