Moodbidri: Youth falls to death from fourth floor of building

Moodbidri, Jun 5, 2026: A young man lost his life after falling from the fourth floor of a building while engaged in roofing work at Kadepalla on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Shaurya Acharya, son of Santosh Acharya and a resident of Pademane in Marpadi village. A second-year pre-university (PU) student, Shaurya had taken up labour work during his college vacation.

The incident occurred at the ’Royal Paradise’ building in Gandhinagar, Kadepalla. Shaurya was reportedly installing roofing sheets on the fourth floor when he lost his balance and fell from the building. He was immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

It is alleged that the mishap resulted from negligence, as the building contractor, Praveen, and the owner, Nort Shaba Rego, had failed to provide adequate safety equipment to the workers.

A case has been registered at the Moodbidri Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
