Moily to inaugurate annual fete of University College Alumni Association on Feb 17

Mangalore, Feb 11, 2013: Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily,will inaugurate the  annual celebrations of the Alumni Association of the University College, Mangalore at the Ravindra Kala Bhavan of the College on February 17, Sunday at  4.30 pm. Moily is the Honorary President of the Association.

 

 

Informing this to reporters at  University College on Feb 11, Monday, Dr K Sundar Naik, Secretary of the Association,. Said Dr D K Chowta, President of Alumni Association will preside over the event.

Prof T C Shivashankar Murthy, Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, P P Upadhyaya, Managing Director, MRPL and Dr M Narendra, Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Overseas Bank will participate as the chief guests.

Speaking about the Association, he said that the Alumni Association Building Committee was established under the leadership of entrepreneur  Dr P Dayanand Pai.

The Dr P Dayanand Pai and P Satish Pai Blocks were inaugurated in the year 2010, he said. Naik further informed that it was due to the effors of Union Minister Veerappa Moily that the MRPL  has agreed to provide Rs 50 lakhs towards the construction of the building.

 Association members  Shashidhar Shetty, Dharmaiah Naik, Dr D K Chowta and Namitha D Rao were present at the press meet.
