Mangalore, January 29: Addressing several ulemas and representatives of various Masjid Jama’aths at a district-level workshop for presidents, secretaries, Qatheebs, and Imams of masjids organized by the Karnataka State Minorities Commission at the Zeenath Baksh Yatheem Khana on Jan 29, Saturday, Assayyid Fazal Koyamma Thangal Koora, the assistant Qazi of Ullal, said that Masjid Jama’aths should be developed because they are the basic units of Islamic society.
In his address, he urged the participants of the workshop to go the extra mile in developing Jama’aths as well as society and to keep themselves free of ego, selfishness, and all other negativities, which are prohibited in Islam.
Anwar Manippady, the chairman of the commission, delivered the introductory address and presided over the event. The dignitaries on the dais were Prabhakar Sharma, the additional deputy commissioner; Prabhulinga Kavalkatti, assistant commissioner; Atheek Ahmed, the secretary of the commission; Usman Haji, the chairman of the district Wakf advisory committee; and Haneef Haji, the vice president of the Muslim Central Committee.
