Mangaluru set to host ‘Pilinalike-10’ on Oct 1

Mangaluru, Sep 29, 2025: The Pilinalike Foundation, under the leadership of Mithun Rai, is gearing up to host its 10th anniversary event “Pilinalike – 10” on October 1 at the Karavali Utsav Grounds.

Addressing a press meet, Foundation president Mithun Rai said that each participating team will be given 20 minutes on stage. The competition will begin at 10 am on October 1 and continue till 10 pm. The aim of the event is to showcase Tulu Nadu’s traditional Pilinalike art form to the world, blended with the spirit of Navaratri.

10 Teams to Compete


Ten teams have been shortlisted for the Pilinalike – 10 contest: Agastya Mangaluru, Sri Vaidyanatheshwara Friends Tiger, Mulihithlu Games Team, Anil Kadambettu, Junior Boys Chilimbi, Emmekere Friends Circle, Talent Tigers Tulunadu, Someshwar Friends, Polali Tigers, and Gokarnanath Tiger Team.

Prizes Worth Rs 26 Lakh

A total prize pool of ₹20 lakh has been set aside for the contest, with the first prize carrying ₹10 lakh and a trophy. Each participating team will receive an honorarium of ₹50,000. In addition, six individual awards—including Best Black Tiger, Best Cub, Best Thane Team, Best Costume, Best Makeup, and Best Performance—will each carry ₹50,000 and a memento.

25,000 Seating Capacity & VIP Guests

Over 25,000 seats have been arranged at the venue. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar will inaugurate the event, while Rajya Sabha MP Naseer Hussain, district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, MPs and MLAs are also expected to attend.

Special Features of the 10th Year


To mark the 10th edition, the Foundation has adopted a government school in Moodbidri taluk to support its development. A felicitation ceremony will also be held to honor Dr. M.N. Rajendra Kumar, president of SCDCC Bank.

The event will see the presence of several celebrities including actors Suniel Shetty, Kiccha Sudeep, Pooja Hegde, Raj B. Shetty, cricketers Ajinkya Rahane and Jitesh Sharma, Olympic boxer Vijender Singh, and music director Gurukiran, among others.

The program is being held in association with Namma TV, led by Shivasharan Shetty.

At the press conference, advisors and office-bearers of the Foundation including Shivasharan, general secretary Vikas Shetty, Anil Poojary, and Anand Raj Shetty were present.
