Mangaluru, May 13, 2025: A case has been registered at the Central Police Station in the city after a woman was allegedly cheated of ₹37.79 lakh, having been lured by the promise of high returns on an investment in a company.
According to the complaint, the accused—Brian D’Souza, Deril Touvro, Flavy Touvro, and Sachin Carlos—convinced her to invest in a company called US Business World, claiming it was linked to Hydrus 7 Blockchain Technology and would yield high returns. Trusting their claims, she made payments in phases, totaling ₹39,61,750 in cash.
They had assured her that she would receive a monthly return of 2,400 USD for 20 months. However, she received only a single installment of ₹1.74 lakh. The remaining ₹37,79,750 and the promised returns were not paid, leading to allegations of fraud in the complaint.
