Mangaluru, Sep 19, 2025: Police have successfully arrested notorious rowdy-sheeter Nazeem alias Najju (30), who is accused in several criminal cases.
Nazeem, a resident of Pattulike in Narikane village of Bantwal taluk, has been identified as an accused in multiple serious cases including murder, extortion, assault, and NDPS Act violations registered at Konaje, Ullal, Mangaluru North, Begur (Bengaluru City), and Bhatkal police stations — totaling at least eight major cases.
After securing bail, he had absconded for nearly one-and-a-half years without appearing before the court, following which warrants and a proclamation were issued against him. Acting on a special operation, police tracked him down in Bengaluru and arrested him.
Cases booked against rowdy-sheeter Nazeem between 2015 and 2023 include unlawful assembly, rioting, trespassing, criminal intimidation, attempt to murder, abetment of crime, intentional insult, group liability, self-harm, causing injuries with weapons, extortion, kidnapping, illegal confinement, and NDPS Act violations across different police stations.
The arrest was made possible under the guidance of the DCP (Mangaluru South) with dedicated efforts from Konaje police personnel — Dinesh, Sharif, and Ramesh, according to the Mangaluru City Police Commissioner.
