Mangaluru, Aug 10, 2025: The Silicon Beach Programme (SBP), an initiative aimed at boosting the coastal Karnataka economy by leveraging the technology sector, on Saturday launched ‘HomeComing’ — an online platform designed to connect experienced software professionals with companies operating in the region.
Speaking at the launch, SBP convenor and founder of Wrkwrk, 99Games and Robosoft, Rohith Bhat, said attracting experienced professionals has been a key challenge for firms setting up operations in coastal Karnataka. “This platform offers a solution by linking talent seeking opportunities back home with companies in need of skilled personnel,” he said.
The portal — www.siliconbeachprogram.com/homecoming — currently lists 542 jobs across 43 companies. It enables professionals working in metropolitan cities to explore local openings, while giving employers access to a ready talent pool. More companies are expected to join the platform in the coming days, Mr. Bhat added.
Launching the portal, Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta highlighted that Mangaluru was recently declared the safest city in the country. He urged more Mangaloreans to return to their native place to contribute to the region’s growth. Capt. Chowta also spoke about his ‘Back to Ooru’ programme, which encourages Mangaloreans living abroad to set up businesses locally. He called on the State government to tap into the talent and potential of coastal Karnataka to drive development.
Chetan Dixit, Vice-President of Beyond Bengaluru, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission and Shyamprasad Hebbar, Chief People Services Officer of unifyCX, also addressed the gathering.
