Mangaluru: ACP team and Barke police arrest two Rajasthan natives with opium in joint operation

Mangaluru, Sep 26, 2025: In a joint operation, the Mangaluru Central Sub-Division ACP team and Barke police arrested two Rajasthan natives who were transporting banned black opium near Bhagavati Nagar, close to the Gujarati School ground at Kodialbail in the city.

The arrested are Vasudev (48), a native of Rajasthan, and Mangal Chaudhary (44), also from Rajasthan, who had supplied the narcotic. From the accused, police seized 151 grams of opium worth about ₹40,000, along with two mobile phones and a two-wheeler. A case has been registered at Barke Police Station under Crime No. 99/25.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, with the participation of the Mangaluru Central Sub-Division crime unit and Barke police personnel.
