Mangalore : Youth hacked to death at Morgansgate

 Mangalore, Aug 6, 2013: A young man has been hacked to death near the railway bridge at Morgansgate in Mangalore on August 5, Monday night.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The deceased is Vikranth Shetty (27) who worked at a recreation club near Jyothi.

  The youth said to be a resident of Shantigudde was reportedly attacked when he was on way home after closing the club at around 11 pm.  It is learnt, the assailants had come by a car and a bike and attacked him with lethal weapons killing him on the spot on the deserted road.

Though at first it was presumed to be a case of accident, later it  came to light that it was a murder. Vikranth’s bike was also found at the spot where he laid dead.

Though the exact motive behind the murder is not known, a personal rivalry leading to a retaliatory attack is not ruled out. Pandeshwar police are conducting  the investigations.
