Mangalore, Oct 5, 2013: The grand inaugural ceremony of the 22nd Dasara celebrations at Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple attracted large number of devotees on October 5, Saturday.

Ramesh Kumar of Janatha Constructions and Urmila Ramesh Kumar, inaugurated the Navaratri celebrations by ligthing the traditional lamp placed in front of idol of Sharada Devi.

 

 

 

 

 

Besides, the idol of Navadurga, including Shaila Putri, Brahmacharini, Chandra Ghanta, Kushmaandini, Skandaputhri, Katyayini, Kaalaratri, Maha Gauri and Sidhidaathri were installed.

H S Sairam, president of the temple management committee, Raghavendra Kuloor, Maheshchandra, B K Tharanath, Malathi Janardhan Poojary, Harikrishna Bantwal were present during the formal inauguration ceremony.

There will be Mass Anna Santharpane followed by the Maha Puja at the Temple every day.

A variety of religious and cultural programmes will be held daily in the evening at the temple auditorium as part of Navaratri celebration.
