Mangalore: DYFI stages demonstration demanding underpass at Padil

Mangalore, Oct 1, 2013 : The DYFI staged a demonstration on September 30, Monday demanding early construction of an under pass near the Padil Railway Gate.

 

Addressing the demonstrators, Muneer Katipalla, District President of the DYFI condemned the lack of will power on the part of the various governments in fulfilling the two decade long demand of the residents of Bajal-Padil areas. 

He pointed out that people were subject to a great deal of inconvenience as the railway gates are closed at least four to five times during an hour. He blamed the apathy of the elected representatives for the non-fulfillment of the demand.

He said the DYFI would wage a relentless battle until the demand was fulfilled.

BK Imtiyaz, DYFI Mangalore unit President, Santosh Bajal, Secretary, Ahmed Bava, leader of the Railway Under Pass Action Committee and several others  took part in the protest.

Earlier, the demonstrators also took out a protest march upto the Railway Station and submitted a memorandum to the railway authorities through the station master.
