Kundapur: Customer assaults medical store staff

Udupi, June 10, 2025: An altercation between a customer and a medical store staff over the issue of change, led to the customer attacking the staff at Mavinakatte in Kundapur taluk.

The accused is Yasmin. She had come to the medical shop to purchase medicine and had handed over a Rs 500 note. However the staff Lakshmi said she did not have change and suggested the customer to pay the amount through Google Pay. However  the customer refused and asked Lakshmi to get change from another shop and slapped her all of a sudden.

Lakshmi has lodged a complaint alleging abuse and assault. The video and audio of the incident has gone viral and social media users have expressed anguish over the assault of the Dalit staff of the medical shop.
