Kendra Sahitya Academy Award winner Melwyn Rodrigues to be felicitated

Mangalore, Feb 29, 2012: A felicitation ceremony in honor of Konkani writer and poet Mr. Melwyn Rodrigues will be held on March 3 Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at Milagres Jubilee Hall. It has been jointly organized by Konkani associations and periodicals.

Speaking at a press meet held at Press Club today, Fr. Francis Rodrigues, the editor of Rakknno, said that Melwyn Rodrigues will be felicitated for receiving the Kendra Sahitya Academy Award for his book “Prakrathicho Paas.” The Best Konkani Book Award was conferred on Mr. Rodrigues in New Delhi on Feb 14.

Further, he said that Pundalik Naik, the convener of Konkani Advisory Board Sahitya Academy, will be the chief guest and Dr. Madhavi Sardesari, the editor of Zaag, and Fr. Walter D’Mello, the parish priest of Milagres Church, will be the guests of honor.

H. M. Pernal, the editor of Kittal.com; Leslie Rego, the president of Karavali Konkans; and Titus Noronha, the MD of Rahul Group, were also present.
