Karkala: Bus rams parked rickshaw after driver suffers sudden low BP

Karkala, Nov 21, 2025: A bus heading towards the Karkala bus stand lost control after the driver reportedly suffered a sudden drop in blood pressure, resulting in the vehicle ramming into a parked rickshaw near Uchchangi Mariyamma Temple on Thursday afternoon.

The mishap occurred around 3 pm. The rickshaw driver had parked his vehicle by the roadside and was seated inside when the bus unexpectedly lurched forward and crashed into it.

The rickshaw driver sustained injuries to his head, hands, and legs, while a female student walking along the road received minor injuries. Local residents rushed to the spot and shifted both the bus driver and the rickshaw driver to the hospital.

Locals noted that a major accident was avoided as the road was relatively empty at the time. The front portions of both vehicles were damaged in the collision.
