KSRTC bus and lorry collision in Uppinangady: Six injured, one in critical condition

Uppinangady, March 14, 2025: A collision between a KSRTC bus and a lorry left six people, including school children, injured on Thursday morning near the underpass on the national highway in Uppinangady.

The bus, which was traveling from Subrahmanya to Mangaluru, had taken a turn off the national highway towards the bus stand when a lorry coming from Mangaluru towards Hassan via the service road crashed into the rear of the bus.

The injured passengers have been identified as Keerthan (20), Aftarkhan (19), Fatima (19), Mudassir (20), Ajmal Hussain (19), and Unais (19). They were admitted to a hospital in Puttur. Among them, Keerthan, a resident of Haleneranki, sustained serious injuries.

Those with minor injuries received treatment at Uppinangady hospital. A case has been registered at the Puttur traffic police station.
