Junior Engineer gets four years jail in disproportionate assets case

Mangaluru, Mar 17, 2023: A former junior engineer of Mulki town panchayat has been sentenced to four years of prison by the Third Additional and Sessions Court of the city in a disproportionate assets case. The court has also imposed a penalty of Rs 26.50 lakh on the convict Padmanabha.

The Lokayukta had registered a case against him in 2015. Presently, he is a junior engineer in Moodbidri Town Municipality.

The court has said that he will have to undergo an additional six months imprisonment in case he fails to pay the fine amount.
