Huge protest held in front of Town Hall to condemn Manipur violence

Mangaluru, July 28, 2023: Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh along with other organisations staged a protest in front of Town Hall on July 27, Thursday to condemn the Manipur violence. Hundreds of people participated in the protest to stand in solidarity with the people of Manipur who are facing extreme hardships due the ongoing violence since the past several days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Addressing the protestors, Roy Castelino said the violence in Manipal, particularly the recent incident of brutality on two women who were paraded naked is shocking. He also expressed his concern over the damage caused to many churches in the state during the violence.

Activist Vidya Dinker who also spoke,  was critical of the government for failing to control law and order in the state and also demanded justice to the aggrieved women.

Many others including Stanley Pinto, SB Mohammad and others spoke on the occasion.
