Mangalore, Sep 22, 2012 : The High Court of Karnataka disposed a PIL filed by Vasudeva, a senior lawyer based in Mangalore, urging it to intervene in the Mangalore home stay attack case.

 

home stay 1T. R. Jagannath, ACP for Mangalore South, who was in-charge of the investigations, had submitted records regarding action taken by the police in this case. According to police sources, a total of 44 people were mentioned in the charge sheet, but only 24 of them have been arrested and have been remanded to judicial custody. The other 20 are still at large.

R. Ashoka, home minister for Karnataka, had announced that the chief culprits will be booked under the Goonda Act, but this was not done. According to the police, they are yet to complete required paperwork to book the culprits under the Goonda Act.
