Accordingly, tourists arriving at Ullal, Someshwar and other places are being sent away by Home Guards who have been deputed at the spot.

Since Wednesday morning, huge waves are lashing and the administration has asked people living close by the shoreline to be alert.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ located over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea is likely to shift northwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next few hours.
