Fresh mandate must be sought to end political confusion in state : Pejawar seer

Udupi, Jan 7, 2013:   Pejawar seer Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji has come down heavily on the state government and said the political instability and the confusion in the government has taken its toll on the development of the state.

Speaking to reporters here, the Swamiji said the political confusion can end only when fresh elections are held at the earliest.

He also urged the public to support those parties which would fight corruption.

The seer felt that he was being unnecessarily criticized over the Made Snana and Pankthi Bedha issue.

On the Ede Snana which he has suggested as an alternate to Made Snana, the seer said as Ede Snana is rolling over Prasadam, there was nothing unhygienic in it. Devotees can also offer Urulu Seve, he added.

The seer further said he failed to understand why he was being criticized on the Made Snana and Pankthi Bedha when it is being practiced in several temples in the state. He said that he was ready for an open talk with the people who oppose the rituals.

 He also called upon the people residing in and around coal based Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) thermal power project to stand up and fight against the project and he would support them. At the same time, the seer said there have been no positive results despite him doing his best.
