Mangalroe, October 3, 2011: The city’s special police forest mobile squad led by sub-inspector K R Manjunath seized four dear skins and 11 antlers from a man near Muddoor Taluk, in Udupi, here on Sunday October 2.
The arrested was identified as Rama Naika (36) told the police that the Putta Naika was given these skins and horns to him. A case has been registered under the Wildlife protection act and investigation is on.
The raid was conducted by Manjunath ,PSI, Forest Squad Mangalore along with police personnel Seetharam, Umesh Hosalike, Ram Chandra Paniyani, Honnappa Gowda, Narayan, Basir and Harishchandra Gowda under the direction of Narayan Gowda, IGP Forest Squad and police commissioner forest squad of Madikeri A R Aquaker.
