Fazil murder case : Major breakthrough as cops arrest six accused

Mangaluru, Aug 02, 2022: Mangaluru Police have cracked the Mohammad Fazil murder case that took place in Suratkal with the arrest of  six accused who were part of the crime, on August 2, Tuesday. The murder that took place on July 28 close on the heels of BJP Yuva Morcha Member Praveen Nettaru’s murder in Bellare, had sent shockwaves across the district.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Those arrested are Suhas Shetty (29)  of Bajpe, Mohan alias Nepali Mohan(26) of Kulai, Giridhar (23), Abhishek (23), Deekshith (21) and Srinivas (26)  of Suratkal.  Ajith Crasta, the owner of the car used by the accused was first detained and questioned and based on the information provided by him, the cops zeroed in on the  accused. The arrests were made near Udyavar on August 2, Tuesday morning.

City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar who gave details,  said all the six accused were directly involved in the murder. Initially, they   had discussions on who their target should be and considered seven persons and finally chose to target Fazil. The exact reason behind the murder is yet to be known, the Commissioner said.

The Commissioner said the police would take the accused to custody for further interrogation.
