Bengaluru, May 31, 2023: The Karnataka education minister Madhu Bangarappa stated that the Congress government will make a decision benefiting all students regarding the hijab ban and textbook changes. The matter is currently sub-judice, so no further comments were given.
Academicians met the chief minister, demanding the revocation of the hijab ban and education sector reforms. A controversy arose when students were barred from attending classes for wearing the headscarf.

Former CM Basavaraj Bommai criticized the government’s plans to reverse the changes and emphasized the need for responsible behavior.
