Belthangady, Aug 14, 2025: In connection with the Dharmasthala case involving the alleged burial of dead bodies in the village, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has begun a search operation today at a new location identified by the complainant.
SIT officials, accompanied by the complainant, reached inside the premises of the Dwarakashrama gate in Kanyadi for the search. It is reported that the complainant had earlier stated that the bodies were buried along the banks of the Netravati River in this area.
Since the location is inside private property, the SIT summoned the concerned persons to the spot and obtained permission to enter. As the property’s gate was locked, the manager in charge of maintaining the estate had to be called to open it. However, as the SIT had not informed in advance, the caretaker was not present at the site, forcing the team to wait for over an hour until he arrived.
After the gate’s key was brought and the lock opened, the SIT proceeded to the location.
The complainant had earlier accompanied the SIT to identify the spot, but due to heavy rain and nightfall, the identification process was postponed. Now, the SIT, along with the complainant, has returned to the same location and is set to carry out the operation.
