Dengue cases on the rise in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, July 16, 2019: There has been a spurt in Dengue cases in Dakshina Kannada district  in the recent past with over 400  persons suffering from fever undergoing Dengue test in the past one week. Of them 128 have been confirmed as Dengue cases.

dengue.jpThe intermittent rain and sunshine is said to be the reason for the  rising cases of Dengue with many patients undergoing treatment in private as well as government hospitals.

In Mangaluru, highest cases of Dengue are reported from Jeppu, Gujjarakere, Kannur and Arekerebailu areas. Health officials have visited these places to ensure adequate precautionary measures.

The Health Department has been asked to  ensure there are no mosquito breeding places and  everyone has been asked to maintain cleanliness and prevent stagnation of water. Officials have also been asked to fine those who fail to maintain cleanliness, the DC has said.
