DC directs officials to encourage students to make short videos on ill-effects of drug abuse

Mangaluru, Aug 04, 2023: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has directed the Collegiate Education Department’s special officer to  initiate measures to encourage students to make reels and short films on ill-effects of drug abuse.

He was presiding over the Narco Co-ordination Centre meeting held at the DC office auditorium on August 3, Thursday.

The DC said Drugs Eradication Committees have already been formed in colleges and members have been appointed. Other awareness programmes like jathas and making of reels and short videos with a good scripts by students must be encouraged and directed Collegiate Education Department’s Special Officer Deviprasad to take steps in this direction. The best reels and short films will be awarded on August 15, he said.


He also directed the District Health and Family Welfare Officer to appoint counselors at district level to offer counseling to drug addicts.

District Superintendent of Police Rishyanth, DCP (Law and Order) Anshu Kumar, Puttur DySP Gana P Kumar and other officials were present.
